Nicholas Bredimus’ Incredible History
April 2nd, 2010 admin
Have you observed the extent to which the advances in software have thoroughly revamped air travel and hospitality in the past decade or so? Behind all of this is New Jersey native Mr Nicholas Bredimus. His career highlights include effort-saving computer software, aircraft safety improvements, and he’s even involved in designing luxury houses. Anyone could have predicted, mind you, that with his family tree he was always likely to reach prominence. Its lines can be traced all the way into ancient history and in fact Bredimus’ provenience has associations with a great many countries within Europe. Within the maternal line he descends from German and Scottish origins. Luxembourg and England provided the home of Bredimus’ father’s family, though during the 1800s they set off for America.
Naturally, after arrival in the United States, the family upheld its immaculate work ethic and determination to survive and thrive. Nicholas, who would grow up with his four sisters and two brothers, was born to a father who worked as a mechanical design engineer and his wife, a nurse. He would go on to live in Texas, Arizona, Kansas City and a township named Reston in Virginia.
What did he do to capitalize on his heritage and schooling? He would soon embark on a string of prominent posts, each as part of huge airlines. Trans World Airlines (TWA), Republic Airlines, Hughes Airwest — all three would at different times appoint him their Vice President. An industrious software programmer, his creative approach to airline software is most likely his greatest legacy. He is highly respected for one particular project, his aircraft maintenance management applications that come into use by most air carrier companies. He turned his gaze next to making and recording reservations. For both hotels and air travel he pioneered software to take on most of the work necessary until automation. Continuing to innovate, he coded a networking program to help with selling tickets — another groundbreaking achievement.
Notwithstanding that it is certainly his specialty, Bredimus has regularly worked on other areas. He worked as manager for American Express’ prestigious IT wing, founded Bredimus Systems in 1993, and became the founding president of AMR Travel Services.
Though he has withdrawn from the posts that first gave him fortune, his abilities are, regardless, still very much in use. You can find his work now at the forefront of building design — mixing the requirements of esthetics with true concern for our ecology. That indefatigable energy we have highlighted above simply won’t stop anytime soon…
