Now Is the Time to Think about Saving Energy

January 22nd, 2010 admin

With the recession biting and the holiday season coming to a close, there has never been a better time to start saving energy. That’s right, energy. We all use it everyday, most of us as much as is required without too much thought. However, cutting back on energy use can help the environment, but also save some money on the gas and electricity bills.

There has been a big push from Governments the world over to improve energy use. Building regulations now include a number of initiatives and assessments including SAP, SBEM and Ecohomes among others. This global push is concerned with protecting our planet and making better use of the resources we have taken for granted for years.

Using the heating less at home for example, can save money, the environment and promote exercise! There aren’t too many people who like sitting in the cold of an evening, why not go outside for a walk or a jog? You may be surprised how much money and energy getting out of the house can save. Walking for an hour means one hour less heating, one hour less of television and one hour of exercise.

In summary, saving energy doesn’t have to be a chore. It can be fun and a great excuse to try something new or different and save a some money at the same time!
